What is a BBQ?

Well… according to exerpts taken from Wikipedia:

Barbecue or barbeque (with abbreviations BBQ, Bar-B-Q and Bar-B-Que) and with diminutive form barbie. Commonly used in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and called a Braai in South Africa is a method and apparatus for cooking food, often meat, with the heat and hot gases of a fire, smoking wood, or hot coals of charcoal and may include application of a marinade, spice rub, or basting sauce to the meat. The term as a noun can refer to foods cooked by this method, to the cooking apparatus itself, or to a party that includes such food. The term is also used as a verb for the act of cooking food in this manner.

So… that’s one word to describe a great multitude of things – all relating to the great enjoyment and taste of this type of outdoor cooking! Yum! For me, of course… it’s all about the MEAT! Yeah baby!

The good old BBQ has numerous regional variations in many parts of the world. Traditions, ways of cooking and social etiquette tend to differ from nation to nation – but all have the same goal… an amazing sociable time to enjoy a meal with one another.
